Wir sind schon eine ganze Woche hier – und Irland ist ja wirklich ein Abenteuerland. Ich bin die ganze Zeit auf Entdeckungstour, dabei rieche ich an allem und nehme alles ins Maul - was Eric gar nicht toll findet und immer wieder "Nein!" schreit. Spielverderber ;-) Und jetzt ist es noch lustiger geworden, weil wir Besuch bekommen haben. Veronika ist da. Das macht nun noch mehr Spass.

We're already here for a week - and Ireland is really an adventure land. I'm constantly exploring the landscapes and smell whatever I can and I take everything into my mouth – even though Eric doesn't like that and always yells "No!" Don't understand why... Und now we have even more fun with Veronika visiting us.

First day in Ireland

Heute ist mein erster Tag in Irland. Jetzt weiss ich, wieso Merlin und Eric immer so von dieser Insel geschwärmt haben. Das ist ja Abenteuer pur. Zuerst habe ich das Haus erkundet, dann sind wir zum ersten Mal an einen Strand gefahren. Da hatte es überall so was wie Schnee, das aber überhaupt nicht schmeckte, dafür umso mehr Staub aufwirbelte. Und überall lag so Zeugs rum, das man ins Maul stecken konnte. Das Wasser schmeckt ja komisch, bääh. Am Nachmittag waren wir an einem anderen Strand und da hatte es einen Haufen übereinander gestapelter Steine. Eine Burgruine, sagte Eric. Was das nun wieder ist? Es sah auf jeden Fall toll aus – und Merlin und ich mussten immer für Fotos posieren. Aber es hat sich gelohnt :-)

Today is my first day in Ireland. Now I know, why Merlin and Eric always told me about the beauty of this island. It's simply adventure. First I explored the house, then we drove to the beach. It was covered with something like snow, but it did not taste at all, but was great making dust when running through. And lots of things were lying around that I could chew on. But the water tastes terrible, argh. In the afternoon we visited yet another beach, where there were a lot of stones piled upon each other. Eric said that was called a castle. Well, it looked great – therefore Merlin and I had to pose endlessly for pictures. But it was well worth it :-)

Auf unserer Reise nach Irland haben wir die ersten rund 800 Kilometer geschafft und sind in Le Havre angekommen. Hier wurden wir mit schönem Wetter empfangen, was wir zum Anlass für einen langen Spaziergang nahmen. Jetzt sind wir etwas am Ausruhen, bevor es heute Abend auf die Fähre geht – und es, wie Eric sagt, offenbar stürmisch werde.

On our journey to Ireland we reached Le Havre - after 800 kilometers about half of our driving distance. Here we are welcomed by beautiful sunny weather. A good reason to go for a long walk. Now we are resting a bit before we take the ferry tonight - and, as Eric says, a stormy trip over the channel. Gales are announced.
